What you’ll do

  • Lead our occupational toxicology team to deliver high-quality work products and service experiences that promote client loyalty.
  • Develop into the subject-matter expert in occupational toxicology for the pharmaceutical industry, and partnering with key clients and other team members.
  • Work collaboratively with other managers and leadership in cross-departmental projects and initiatives.

You will also have the opportunity to do your best work through the following:

  • Research and preparation of occupational hazard classification reports for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
  • Research, development, and preparation of written occupational exposure limits (OELs) and acceptable daily exposure (ADE) values for APIs.
  • Prepare written justification reports on genotoxic impurities, residual solvents, and foreign contaminants.
  • Provide hazard and risk communication training as necessary to clients.

  • Self-directed and ability to work independently from a remote location.
  • Ability to manage multiple client situations, needs and inquiries simultaneously, and prioritize accordingly.
  • Ability to mentor junior-level staff in a positive and encouraging manner.
  • Ability to assemble and analyze complex data sets and prepare summary information in a manner that can be understood by non-scientific personnel.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office, including the ability to create complex tables and graphs.
  • Experience working with computerized chemical and toxicology databases.
  • Ability to use modern online communication and project management tools, such as Skype, Slack and Basecamp.
  • Ability to provide technical presentations, both in-person and online, in clearly-spoken English and in front of moderate size groups.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some early morning, evening and weekend work depending on international client needs.

In addition, ideal candidates will have:

  • Pharmaceutical or other life science experience.
  • Prior experience with leading small departments.
  • Additional management or leadership training.
  • Diplomat American Board of Toxicology (DABT) desired or the ability to obtain such designation within 1 year.

Education

M.Sc. in Chemistry, Pharmacology, or Toxicology or related field with 10+ year’s related work experience.

Ph.D. in Chemistry, Pharmacology, or Toxicology or related field with 5+ year’s related work experience.
