Agaricus blazei Murrill (ABM) is a mushroom originally native to a small village named Piedade, in the highland areas of the Atlantic Forest, near Tauape, in the province of S o Paolo, Brazil. It widely cultivated in Japan for its medicinal uses, and it is now considered to be one of the most important edible and culinary-medicinal biotechnological species.
