Argatroban is a direct thrombin inhibitor indicated for prevention or treatment of thrombosis (blood clot formation) in adult patients with heparin-induced low number of platelets in the blood and as an anticoagulant in adult patients with or at risk of heparininducted lower platelets undergoing non surgical treatment of narrowing of the arteries of the heart.
