Please note, this OEL/ADE monograph also applies to D-aspartic acid (CAS RN 1783-96-6), DL-aspartic acid (CAS RN 617-45-8), Aspartic acid calcium (CAS RN 39162-75-9), Disodium L-aspartate (CAS RN 5598-53-8, 3792-50-5), Sodium aspartate (CAS RN 3792-50-5, 17090-93-6), Magnesium aspartate (CAS RN 2068-80-6, 7018-07-7, 18962-61-3, 72231-13-1, 1187-91-3), Potassium aspartate anhydous (CAS RN 1115-63-5, 7259-25-8, 14434-35-6), Dipotassium aspartate (CAS RN 2001-89-0, 14007-45-5) and Zinc aspartate (CAS RN 36393-20-1). Aspartic acid is a nonessential amino acid commonly occurring in the L-form and is used as a component in total parenteral nutrition. Aspartic acid is found in animals and plants, especially in sugar cane and sugar beets. It may be an Escherichia coli metabolite, a mouse metabolite, and a neurotransmitter. People use aspartic acid to improve fatigue, athletic performance, and muscle strength, but there is no good scientific evidence to support these uses.
Affygility Solutions has an occupational exposure limit (OEL) and control band assignment for this active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). This monograph also contains the acceptable daily exposure (ADE) value.
OEL Fastrac monographs are a cost-effective and convenient way to meet the requirements for PDEs (ADEs) contained in the EMA Guideline on setting health based exposure limits for use in risk identification in the manufacture of different medicinal products in shared facilities (EMA/CHMP/CVMP/SWP/169430/2012), as well as PIC/S and ANVISA requirements, and to obtain the following information:
