Aspirin inhibits prostaglandin synthesis via activity on cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, resulting in analgesia, anti-inflammatory activity, and platelet aggregation inhibition. Aspirin reduces fever by acting on the brain's heat-regulating center to promote vasodilation and sweating.
