Aviptadil, also known as RLF-100, is a synthetic version of the naturally occurring peptide VIP, a member of the secretin/glucagon hormone superfamily. Aviptadil is indicated for the treatment of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) in patients with severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Aviptadil has received regulatory approval in India, while it remains under clinical investigation in the United States (US) and Europe for this indication. Aviptadil is approved in Europe in combination with phentolamine mesylate for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
