Barnidipine is used in the treatment of hypertension. Barnidipine is a long-acting novel calcium antagonist that belongs to the dihydropyridine (DHP) group of calcium channel blockers. Barnidipine displays high affinity for the calcium channels of the smooth muscle cells in the vascular wall and selectivity against cardiovascular L-type calcium channels. It is characterized by a slow onset of action and a strong and long-lasting binding to the L-type calcium channels. It displays high affinity for the channels expressed in the smooth muscle cells in the vascular wall. Its main mechanism of action arises from the reduction of peripheral vascular resistance secondary to its vasodilatory actions.
Affygility Solutions has an occupational exposure limit (OEL) and control band assignment for this active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). This monograph also contains the acceptable daily exposure (ADE) value.
OEL Fastrac monographs are a cost-effective and convenient way to meet the requirements for PDEs (ADEs) contained in the EMA Guideline on setting health based exposure limits for use in risk identification in the manufacture of different medicinal products in shared facilities (EMA/CHMP/CVMP/SWP/169430/2012), as well as PIC/S and ANVISA requirements, and to obtain the following information:
