Carbinoxamine maleate is an antihistamine indicated for the symptomatic treatment of seasonal and perennial allergies, inflammation of nasal membranes (vasomotor rhinitis), redness and swelling of the eyes (allergic conjunctivitis) due to inhalant allergens and foods, mild hives and associated swelling (urticaria and angioedema). It is also indicated for treatment of ‘skin writing’ (dermatographism), to improve severe allergic reactions to blood or plasma, and as therapy for anaphylactic reactions adjunctive to epinephrine and other standard measures after acute manifestations have been controlled.
