Cefiderocol is a cephalosporin antibacterial indicated for the treatment of complicated urinary tract infections (cUTI), including pyelonephritis, caused by susceptible gram-negative microorganisms (Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Enterobacter cloacae complex) in adults aged 18 years and older with limited alternative treatment options or no alternative treatment options. Cefiderocol is also indicated for the treatment of hospital-acquired bacterial pneumonia (HABP) and ventilator-associated bacterial pneumonia (VABP) caused by susceptible gram-negative organisms (Acinetobacter. baumannii complex, Escherichia coli, Enterobacter cloacae complex, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Serratia marcescens).
