Cefquinome is a thirdgeneration cephalosporin which has been developed solely for veterinary use. It shows antimicrobial activity against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial species and is regarded as being highly stable to b-lactamases. Cefquinome is indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract disease in cattle, pigs and horses.
