Please note, this OEL/ADE monograph also applies to Choline chloride (CAS RN 67-48-1), Choline bitartrate (CAS RN 87-67-2), and Choline dihydrogen citrate (CAS RN 77-91-8). Additionally, this monograph contains the pediatric ADE (pADE). Choline is a naturally occurring compound that is necessary for human health. Choline is manufactured in the body and occurs in a wide range of foods from plants and animals. Foods are supplemented with choline to maintain adequate nutritional intake and as a flavor enhancer. The salt forms of choline (choline chloride and choline bitartrate) are added to many infant formulas. Choline accelerates synthesis and release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter necessary for normal muscle control, memory and other functions. It is a precursor of phospholipids that are required in cell membranes, intracellular signaling and removal of cholesterol from the liver.
Affygility Solutions has an occupational exposure limit (OEL) and control band assignment for this active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). This monograph also contains the acceptable daily exposure (ADE) value.
Please note: Due to the complexity and amount of studies regarding this compound—a Natural Health Product—increased cost is charged.
OEL Fastrac monographs are a cost-effective and convenient way to meet the requirements for PDEs (ADEs) contained in the EMA Guideline on setting health based exposure limits for use in risk identification in the manufacture of different medicinal products in shared facilities (EMA/CHMP/CVMP/SWP/169430/2012), as well as PIC/S and ANVISA requirements, and to obtain the following information:
