Cisatracurium besylate is indicated for induction of neuromuscular blockade, as an adjunct to general anesthesia, to facilitate endotracheal intubation, and to provide skeletal muscle relaxation during surgery or mechanical ventilation. Cisatracurium besylate is an intermediate-acting, non-depolarizing, skeletal muscle relaxant used as an adjunct to general anesthesia. This neuromuscular blocker binds competitively with cholinergic receptor sites on the motor-end plate, thereby, inhibiting the neurotransmitter action of acetylcholine.
