Clopamide is an oral diuretic agent with antihypertensive activity. Like thiazide diuretics, it has an aromatic sulfonamide base but with no double-ring structure. It is used for hypertension and for edema, including those associated with heart disease (heart failure), liver disease (liver cirrhosis), and kidney disease (chronic renal failure, nephrotic syndrome, acute glomerulonephritis). As a medication, it is often combined with other active ingredients, such as pindolol, reserpine, and dihydroergocristine.
Affygility Solutions has an occupational exposure limit (OEL) and control band assignment for this active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). This monograph also contains the acceptable daily exposure (ADE) value.
