Please note, this OEL/ADE monograph also applies to alternate CAS RN 90055-48-4, clopidogrel hydrochloride (CAS RN 120202-65-5), clopidogrel bisulfate (CAS RN 120202-66-6), clopidogrel hydrobromide (CAS RN 120202-67-7), clopidogrel hydrobromide monohydrate (CAS RN 894353-16-3), clopidogrel besylate (CAS RN 744256-69-7), and Clopidogrel resinate (CAS RN 1023927-71-0). Clopidogrel is a thienopyridine, with antiplatelet activity (2). Clopidogrel is indicated for the secondary prevention of atherothrombotic events (myocardial infarction (MI), stroke and vascular death) in patients with atherosclerosis documented by stroke, myocardial infarction, or established peripheral arterial disease. Clopidogrel, in combination with acetylsalicylic acid (ASA), is indicated for the early and long-term secondary prevention of atherothrombotic events (myocardial infarction, ischemic stroke, cardiovascular death and/or refractory ischemia) in patients with acute coronary syndromes without ST segment elevation (unstable angina or non-Q-wave myocardial infarction).
Affygility Solutions has an occupational exposure limit (OEL) and control band assignment for this active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). This monograph also contains the acceptable daily exposure (ADE) value.
OEL Fastrac monographs are a cost-effective and convenient way to meet the requirements for PDEs (ADEs) contained in the EMA Guideline on setting health based exposure limits for use in risk identification in the manufacture of different medicinal products in shared facilities (EMA/CHMP/CVMP/SWP/169430/2012), as well as PIC/S and ANVISA requirements, and to obtain the following information:
