Cyamemazine, also known as cyamepromazine, is a typical antipsychotic drug from the phenothiazide class that was first introduced in France in 1972. It is indicated for the treatment of certain psychiatric disorders (schizophrenia, certain types of psychosis, serious behavioral disorders in children). It is also used in combination with an antidepressant in the short-term treatment of depression and at low dose in the treatment of anxiety in case of failure of the usual treatments.
