Cyclobenzaprine is a centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant closely related to the tricyclic antidepressants. It is indicated as a short-term adjunct therapy for relief of muscle spasm associated with acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions. Cyclobenzaprine is also occasionally used off-label for reducing pain and sleep disturbances in patients with fibromyalgia.
