Please note, this OEL/ADE monograph also applies to Diphenylpyraline hydrobromide (CAS RN 5807-87-4), Diphenylpyraline hydrochloride (CAS RN 132-18-3), and Diphenylpyraline teoclate (CAS RN 606-90-6). Diphenylpyraline is a member of the class of piperidines that is the benzhydryl ether derivative of 1-methyl-4-hydroxypiperidine. Diphenylpyraline is a first-generation histamine 1 (H1) receptor antagonist antihistamines indicated for use in the treatment of allergic rhinitis, hay fever, and allergic skin disorders. As the teoclate salt (also called piprinhydrinate), diphenylpyraline is used as an ingredient in compound preparations for the symptomatic relief of coughs and the common cold.
Affygility Solutions has an occupational exposure limit (OEL) and control band assignment for this active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). This monograph also contains the acceptable daily exposure (ADE) value.
OEL Fastrac monographs are a cost-effective and convenient way to meet the requirements for PDEs (ADEs) contained in the EMA Guideline on setting health based exposure limits for use in risk identification in the manufacture of different medicinal products in shared facilities (EMA/CHMP/CVMP/SWP/169430/2012), as well as PIC/S and ANVISA requirements, and to obtain the following information:
