Dronabinol, also known as delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, is an isomer of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) that is the main and most active isomer found in the Cannabis sativa L. plant, with potential antiemetic, analgesic and appetite-stimulating activities. Dronabinol is indicated for the treatment of loss of appetite (anorexia) in acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) patients and for the treatment of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting in patients with inadequate response to conventional antiemetic treatments.
