Emodepside, a semi-synthetic derivative of PF1022A, belongs to a new class of anthelmintic drugs, the cyclooctadepsipeptides, and shows good efficacy against macrocyclic lactone-resistant, levamisole-resistant, or benzimidazole-resistant nematode populations. It is a potent anthelminthic drug used in combination with praziquantel, with praziquantel and tigolaner, or with toltrazuril for the treatment of parasitic worms in cats and dogs. Emodepside may have the potential to treat parasitic infections in humans, including onchocerciasis. Emodepside is under investigation in oral formulations for the treatment of Trichuris trichiura and hookworm infection in humans.
Affygility Solutions has an occupational exposure limit (OEL) and control band assignment for this active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). This monograph also contains the acceptable daily exposure (ADE) value.
OEL Fastrac monographs are a cost-effective and convenient way to meet the requirements for PDEs (ADEs) contained in the EMA Guideline on setting health based exposure limits for use in risk identification in the manufacture of different medicinal products in shared facilities (EMA/CHMP/CVMP/SWP/169430/2012), as well as PIC/S and ANVISA requirements, and to obtain the following information:
