Emoxypine (ethylmethylhydroxypyridine) succinate is a 3-hydroxypyridine derivative which is quite similar in structure to vitamin B6 (pyridoxine). Due to its mechanism of action, emoxypine has a wide range of pharmacological effects that are realized on at least two levels, the neuronal level and the vascular level. It has antihypoxic, anti-ischemic, neuroprotective, nootropic, vegetotropic, antistress, anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, antialcohol, cardioprotective, antiatherogenic, geroprotective and other actions. Under the action of emoxypine, an improvement in cerebral circulation and microcirculation is observed. Emoxypine is distributed in Russia, but it is widely unknown in other regions.
