Etofenamate is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) (1, 2). Etofenamate is indicated for the external supportive symptomatic treatment of pain in adults caused by acute strains, sprains, or bruises in the extremities after blunt trauma such as sports injuries and in soft tissue near a joint (bursa, tendon, cord, and joint capsule) in cases of gonarthrosis. It is indicated via intramuscular (IM) injection for acute painful and/or inflammatory situations or similar chronic conditions in the acute phase, such as chronic inflammatory rheumatisms (rheumatoid arthritis, seronegative spondyloarthritis), tendinitis, bursitis, and tenosynovitis, acute gout attacks, lumbago, sciatica, spinal and peripheral osteoarthritis, traumatic situations (strains, sprains, contusions), postoperative pain and swelling.
