Fenoprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) indicated for use in the relief pain and inflammation and associated symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. Fenoprofen is a propionic acid derivative with analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic properties. The exact mode of action of fenoprofen is unknown, but it is thought to involve the inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2). Fenoprofen has been shown to inhibit prostaglandin synthetase.
