Firocoxib is a cyclooxygenase (COX)-2 selective nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). In veterinary medicine, firocoxib is indicated for use in controlling the clinical signs of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis in the dog. It is intended for use in horses for the same indications. Firocoxib is not intended or approved for use in human medicine.
