Fulvestrant is indicated to treat metastatic breast cancer, specifically hormone receptorpositive, postmenopausal with disease progression following anti-estrogen therapy. Fulvestrant is a selective estrogen receptor antagonist (selective estrogen receptor degrader, SERD) with no agonist effects, which works both by down-regulating and by degrading the estrogen receptor. It can be used as monotherapy for the treatment of breast cancers.
