Green tea leaves (also known as Camellia sinensis and Camellia sinensis (L.) O. Kuntze) consists of whole or cut young, unfermented, rapidly hot-dried leaf of Camellia sinensis (L.) Kuntze and its cultivated varieties. The composition of green leaves of Camellia sinensis is 25% of flavonols, 3% of flavonols and flavonol glycosides, 5% of polyphenolic acids and depsides, 3% of other polyphenols, 3% of caffeine, 0.2% of theobromine, 4% of amino acids, 0.5% of organic acids, 4% of monosaccharides, 13% of polysaccharides, 7% of cellulose, 15% of protein, 6% of lignin, 3% of lipids, 0.5% of chlorophyll and other pigments, 5% of ash, and 0.1% of volatiles. Green tea is not a chemical. Therefore, chemical and physical characteristics are not applicable.
