Lauric diethanolamide (DEA), also known as C12 DEA, lauramide DEA, and lauric acid diethanolamide is a mixture of ethanolamides of lauric acid. Lauric diethanolamide is used in cosmetic formulations as a thickener, foam stabilizer, and viscosity builder. Lauric diethanolamide is an ingredient in some personal care products including shampoo, hair coloring products, hand soap, bubble baths, bath gels, and lotions.
