OEL Fastrac Catalog

Note, this OEL/ADE monograph applies to both losartan and losartan potassium (CAS RN 124750-99-8). Additionnally, this monograph contains the pediactric ADE. Losartan is a nonpeptide angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) with antihypertensive activity. Losartan is indicated to treat hypertension in patients older than 6 years, reduce the risk of stroke in patients with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy, and treat diabetic nephropathy with elevated serum creatinine and proteinuria in patients with type 2 diabetes and hypertension. Losartan with hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) is indicated to treat hypertension and to reduce the risk of stroke in patients with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy.
