Please note, this OEL/ADE monograph also applies to lurasidone hydrochloriide (CAS RN 367514-88-3). Lurasidone is indicated for treatment of schizophrenia and is a partial agonist at serotonin 5-HT 1A receptors, and antagonist at dopamine D 2 and serotonin 5-HT 2A receptors. Lurasidone is an oral antipsychotic for the treatment of schizophrenia and is a partial agonist at serotonin 5-HT1A receptors, and antagonist at dopamine D2 and serotonin 5-HT2A receptors. Lurasidone has a high affinity for D2 receptors (Ki value of 1.68 nM) and for 5-HT2A receptors (Ki value of 0.5 nM); it has moderate affinity for serotonin 5-HT1A receptors (Ki value of 6.4 nM). Antagonism of serotonin receptors can improve negative symptoms of psychoses and reduce the extrapyramidal side effects associated with typical antipsychotics.
Affygility Solutions has an occupational exposure limit (OEL) and control band assignment for this active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). This monograph also contains the acceptable daily exposure (ADE) value.
OEL Fastrac monographs are a cost-effective and convenient way to meet the requirements for PDEs (ADEs) contained in the EMA Guideline on setting health based exposure limits for use in risk identification in the manufacture of different medicinal products in shared facilities (EMA/CHMP/CVMP/SWP/169430/2012), as well as PIC/S and ANVISA requirements, and to obtain the following information:
