Naphazoline is an adrenergic vasoconstrictor agent indicated for the treatment of nasal congestion and inflammation of the eye and eyelid. Naphazoline binds to peripheral alpha-adrenergic receptors at the site of action (the eye or nose) causing vasoconstriction. Naphazoline causes the release of norepinephrine in sympathetic nerves leading to binding to alpha-adrenergic receptors and vasoconstriction.
