Ox bile extract is a substance of unknown or variable composition, complex reaction products, or biological materials (UVCB). It is the purified portion of the bile of an ox obtained by evaporating the alcohol extract of concentrated bile (3). Ox bile extract is also known as beef bile, Bos bovis bile, Bos taurus bile, bovine bile, fel tauri, ox bile, and bovine bile extract (4). It is also known as purified oxgall or sodium choleate.
