Piribedil is an alternative therapy to patients who have not responded to levodopa therapy with bromocriptine. Although piribedil has improved symptoms of Parkinson's disease, particularly when administered as add-on therapy in multiple-drug regimens, available clinical studies with this agent are still limited and the number of patients treated with piribedil is limited.
