Please note, this OEL/ADE monograph also applies to pranlukast hydrate (CAS RN 150821-03-7). Pranlukast is a cysteinyl leukotriene receptor-1 antagonist and is a member of chromones. It antagonizes or reduces bronchospasm caused, principally in asthmatics, by an allergic reaction to accidentally or inadvertently encountered allergens. It is indicated for the treatment of allergic rhinitis and asthma, as an adjunct to the standard therapy of inhaled steroids with inhaled long-acting and/or short-acting beta-agonists.
