Propacetamol is a nonopioid analgesic devoid of major contraindications. It is a derivative of acetaminophen (also known as paracetamol or para-hydroxyacetanilide). Propacetamol is a parenteral formulation of acetaminophen and thus, it is a prodrug that is completely hydrolyzed to acetaminophen. It is not available in the United States (US), but this prodrug has been widely used in other countries. Propacetamol is used to control fever and pain.
