This constricts dilated blood vessels within the nasal mucosa and reduces blood flow to the congested area. Pseudoephedrine is a safe and effective oral nasal decongestant for relief of congestive symptoms due to allergies or the common cold. Effectiveness is measured by improvement of nasal congestion and stuffiness.
