Psilocybin belongs to a class of drugs referred to as hallucinogens or psychedelics. Specifically, it is a serotonergic hallucinogen, along with other tryptamines such as dimethyltryptamine (DMT), ergolines, such as lysergide (LSD) and phenethylamines, such as mescaline.
