Please note, this OEL/ADE monograph also applies to quinapril hydrochloride (CAS RN 82586-55-8). Quinapril is indicated for the treatment of heart failure and high blood pressure. Quinapril hydrochloride is rapidly converted to quinaprilat, an angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, which prevents the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II which is a potent vasoconstrictor agent. Decreased angiotensin II results in a reduced vasopressor activity and aldosterone secretion from the adrenal cortex.
Affygility Solutions has an occupational exposure limit (OEL) and control band assignment for this active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). This monograph also contains the acceptable daily exposure (ADE) value.
