Please note, this OEL/ADE monograph also applies to rosuvastatin calcium (CAS RN 147098-20-2), Rosuvastatin lactone (CAS RN 503610-43-3, and Rosuvastatin methyl ester (CAS RN 147118- 40-9). This monograph also include the paediatric ADE. Rosuvastatin is indicated for treatment of cardiovascular system disorders, high cholesterol, high lipids and arteriosclerosis. Rosuvastatin is a selective inhibitor of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) which is the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol synthesis. The lipid-modifying effects result from its capacity to up-regulate hepatic low-density lipoproteins (LDL) receptors enhancing uptake and catabolism of LDL as well as its activity of inhibiting hepatic synthesis of very low-density lipoproteins (VLDL) contributing to the reduction of VLDL and LDL particles.
Affygility Solutions has an occupational exposure limit (OEL) and control band assignment for this active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). This monograph also contains the acceptable daily exposure (ADE) value.
OEL Fastrac monographs are a cost-effective and convenient way to meet the requirements for PDEs (ADEs) contained in the EMA Guideline on setting health based exposure limits for use in risk identification in the manufacture of different medicinal products in shared facilities (EMA/CHMP/CVMP/SWP/169430/2012), as well as PIC/S and ANVISA requirements, and to obtain the following information:
