Salcaprozate sodium (SNAC) is the sodium salt form of salcaprozate, a synthetic N-acetylated amino-acid derivative of salicylic acid. Salcaprozate sodium is an intestinal permeation enhancer (PE) that may be used as a delivery agent to promote the oral absorption of certain macromolecules with poor bioavailability such as vitamin B12, insulin and heparin.
