Please note, this OEL/ADE monograph also applies to alternate CAS RN 7440-24-6, strontium acetate (CAS RN 543-94-2), strontium carbonate (CAS RN 1633-05-2), strontium chloride (CAS RN 10476-85-4), strontium chloride hexahydrate (CAS RN 10025-70-4), strontium sulfate (CAS RN 7759-02-6), strontium nitrate (CAS RN 10042-76-9), strontium phosphate (CAS RN 7446-28-8, 14414-90-5), strontium dihydroxide (CAS RN 18480-07-4), and strontium oxalate (CAS RN 814-95-9). Strontium (Sr) is a naturally occurring element found in rocks, soil, dust, coal, and oil. Naturally occurring strontium is not radioactive and is either referred to as stable strontium or strontium. Strontium in the environment exists in four stable isotopes, 84Sr, 86Sr, 87Sr, and 88Sr. Strontium can also exist as several radioactive isotopes; the most common is 89Sr and 90Sr. Radioactive forms of strontium are not covered by this monograph. Strontium chromate (CAS 7789-06-2) is also not covered by this monograph as the toxicity of strontium chromate is driven by the chromate ion.
Affygility Solutions has an occupational exposure limit (OEL) and control band assignment for this active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). This monograph also contains the acceptable daily exposure (ADE) value.
OEL Fastrac monographs are a cost-effective and convenient way to meet the requirements for PDEs (ADEs) contained in the EMA Guideline on setting health based exposure limits for use in risk identification in the manufacture of different medicinal products in shared facilities (EMA/CHMP/CVMP/SWP/169430/2012), as well as PIC/S and ANVISA requirements, and to obtain the following information:

Affygility Solutions’ OEL Fastrac service is an user-friendly system that enables us to make confident decisions and focus on moving the compound safely through our facility. We can quickly access the database to determine if a new drug is within the OEL Fastrac library, and if so, immediately download a detailed OEL banding report. The OEL Fastrac system has been a helpful tool in our overall EH&S program.
