Tiaprofenic acid, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), is used for rheumatoid or osteoarthritis. Tiaprofenic acid is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agent with potent pain relieving, fever reducing and anti-inflammatory properties. Tiaprofenic acid is a potent inhibitor of prostaglandin synthesis. This inhibition primarily occurs in the cyclo-oxygenase pathway, which transforms arachidonic acid into endoperoxides and prostaglandins.
