Tildipirosin is a semisynthetic derivative of the naturally occurring 16-membered macrolide tylosin. In veterinary medicine, tildipirosin is indicated in treatment and metaphylaxis of swine and cattle respiratory disease associated with Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida, Bordetella bronchiseptica, and Haemophilus parasuis sensitive to tildipirosin. The presence of the disease in the herd should be confirmed before metaphylaxis is implemented. Tildipirosin is not used in human medicine.
