Tiludronic acid is a first-generation bisphosphonate with similar properties to those of bisphosphonates in general. It is indicated for the treatment of Paget’s disease of bone. Tiludronic acid is also used as a veterinary drug intended for use in poultry for the improvement of the eggshell quality, as well as for horses over 3 years of age that present clinical signs of lameness associated with bone spavin. It is also recommended for the treatment of navicular disease and fetlock suspensory ligament enthesopathies in horses.
