Tiotropium bromide is an anticholinergic agent used in the long-term treatment of bronchospasms associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Tiotropium is a long anticholinergic that binds to receptors on the smooth muscles of the bronchi resulting in relaxation of the muscles on opening of the airways.
