Tylosin tartrate is a macrolide antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections in animals, but not in humans. Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic product by Streptomyces fradiae active against Gram-positive and some Gram-negative bacteria. It inhibits protein synthesis by inhibiting aminoacyl-tRNA and peptidyl-tRNA binding to ribosomes.
