Dean Calhoun is an American Board of Industrial Hygiene Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH). He has been an environmental health and safety professional for over 33 years.
Prior to starting Affygility Solutions, Dean was the Associate Director of Environmental Health and Safety for Gilead Sciences, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing pharmaceuticals for infectious, viral, and oncology applications. His experiences including development and implementation of global EHS guidelines, implementation and coordination of an executive management EHS Steering Committee, establishment of occupational exposure limits for pharmaceutical active ingredients, industrial hygiene program management, and EH&S auditing of research, manufacturing and contract manufacturing facilities.
Dean has spoken for a number of professional organizations including the U.S. Environment Protection Agency, the Colorado Safety Association, the Bay Area Environmental Safety Group, the National Association for Environmental Management, the National Safety Council, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and the American Industrial Hygiene Association.
Dean graduated with a B.Sc. degree in Engineering from the University of Wyoming and has dual master degrees in Environmental Policy and Management, and Technology Management from the University of Denver. He is a member of AIHA, ASSE, and NAEM.

Curt has worked in the Information Technology field for more than 26 years, with experience in the pharmaceutical and financial services industries. As chief architect of our Affytrac EHS management system, our OEL Fastrac delivery systems, and other tactical and strategic projects, Curt directs Affygility's technology efforts.
Curt graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Manchester College in North Manchester, Indiana, home of Mr. Dave's. He likes guitars, bicycles, the Chicago Bulls, and Sonic Youth.
Mr. Burke is a National Sales Manager with Affygility Solutions. He has been in the life sciences industry for over 22 years, with significant experience in the pharmaceutical industry and the handling of high-potency compounds.
Prior to joining Affygility Solutions, Peter was a sales representative with Flow Sciences where he provided sales and support of containment devices. Prior to Flow Sciences, Peter spent 4 years in laboratory management at DuPont.
Peter graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with emphasis on Chemistry from The University of North Carolina Wilmington.
Dr. Frank Richardson is currently a Principal Toxicologist with Affygility Solutions. He has over 30 years of pharmaceutical industry and research experience. Prior to joining Affygility Solutions, Frank was a Principle Research Fellow and Vice President, Toxicology and Molecular Markers, for OSI Pharmaceuticals. Additional prior work includes positions at Gilead Sciences, and Eli Lilly.
Dr. Richardson has published over 50 scientific articles in prominent journals such as Anticancer Research, Cancer Research, Carcinogenesis, Clinical Oncology, Environmental Health Perspectives, and the New England Journal of Medicine.
Frank Richardson is a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology (DABT). He earned a Ph.D. in Experimental Pathology from Duke University, a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University, and a B.S degree in Life Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Ashley Calhoun is our Social Media Marketing Associate and Event Planner.
Prior to Affygility Solutions, Ashley received a dual degree in Sociology and Political Science from Colorado State University in 2012. After graduation Ashley spent two years working with the Wheat Ridge Municipal court as a Court Clerk before she decided to go back to school for her Masters. Currently, Ashley is working towards a Master’s in Public relations and marketing from the University of Denver.
Ashley has attend various conferences with Affygility Solutions including working the booth at the AIHce. Ashley also helps with social media content, blog posts, event planning and contract work with a couple laboratories in Colorado. With a background in communications, marketing and social media, Ashley is happy to work with people from all around the world and export creative content on various social media platforms.
Matt has worked in the field of environmental, health and safety for over 20 years. He has significant experience in occupational safety and environmental compliance, laboratory safety, industrial hygiene, safety data sheet authoring, EHS training, vivarium safety, and AAALAC accreditations.
Prior to joining Affygility Solutions, Matt has held various EHS and related facility management positions with Avista Pharma, OSI Pharmaceuticals, and Gilead Sciences where he provided day-to-day EHS support.
Matt graduated with a B.Sc. degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay.
Matt is trained and certified in: First-Aid/CPR/AED, 24 Hour HAZWOPER, Advanced Potent Compounds, Radiation Safety Officer, FEMA – Incident Command, former IACUC Member, DOT Hazardous Materials, DOT/IATA Shipping.
Rahul Soliwal is the Regional Business Development Manager with Affygility Solutions for the IMEA region (India, Middle East and Africa). Prior to joining the Affygility team, Rahul in his short career has had the privilege of working in different regions (Singapore, India and Dubai) where he helped launch several B2B platforms for the Life-science and Technology Sector.
Rahul earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Biotechnology at the Visvesvaraya Technological University. Outside of work, he really enjoys his football and food.
Shely started at Affygility as an Intern Toxicologist in December, 2016. Since that time, she has moved from an internship position to an Associate Toxicologist and on into a management role, handling the day to day operations of the Toxicology Team.
Shely received her undergraduate degree in Forensic Chemistry and Criminology from Metropolitan State University of Denver and completed her graduate training in Toxicology at Colorado State University. She is currently certified in research surgery, cGLP, outbreak response and Chain of Custody through the US EPA.
Prior to and during the completion of her academic studies, Shely maintained a full-time career as an engineer for the Telecommunications industry. She is currently continuing further graduate education and aspires to earn her PhD in the coming years.
Shely is an avid soccer and ice hockey fan, a Colorado native, and enjoys any time spent in the Rocky Mountains, as well as fishing, boating, camping and spending time with her family.
Prior to joining the Affygility team, Paola earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a premedical concentration. She was awarded a Postbaccalaureate Intramural Research Fellowship position at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD, where she helped to manage a translational research study for whole genome sequencing.
Paola has also spent 3 years as a research coordinator at a research clinic within the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Washington, DC, working on the patient recruitment and regulatory aspects. In 2017, Paola graduated from Colorado State University with a Master of Science degree in Toxicology.
Jessica started at Affygility as an Intern Toxicologist in May 2018 and transitioned into her current Research Associate role.
Jessica received her undergraduate degree in Forensic Chemistry with a minor in Criminal Justice and a Forensic Science Certificate from Appalachian State University. She went on and recently completed her graduate degree in Toxicology from Colorado State University. Outside of work Jessica enjoys cooking, running, reading, and skiing.
Dr. James Damewood (Jim) received his Ph.D. in chemistry from Princeton University where he was both a Hugh Stott Taylor and Halcon International Fellow.
He spent 20 years in drug discovery research at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, serving as a senior scientist, Associate Director and Global Chemical Toxicology Specialist. He then moved to DuPont where for 7 years he served as a Business Liaison, Principal Research Toxicologist and Research Manager at The Haskell Global Centers for Health and Environmental Sciences.
He has authored close to 50 papers in chemistry, pharmaceutical research and toxicology and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology (DABT).
Amy has been with Affygility since 2003, managing the daily operations at Affygility. Amy started her career teaching elementary education, and later on coaching high school girls swimming, which prepared her well for managing and organizing the unruly executives at Affygility.
Amy earned a B.A. degree in elementary education from the University of Wyoming.
